CRRC said that at the Zhejiang Provincial Scientific and Technological Achievements and New Product Appraisal Meeting held recently, 9 experts including Yang Yusheng, Liu Youmei, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Professor Zhang Shichao, an expert on the "National 863 Energy-saving Energy Storage Project", unanimously appraised: 3V/12000 Farad graphene/activated carbon composite electrode supercapacitors and 2.8V/30,000 Farad graphene nano-hybrid supercapacitors represent the highest level of supercapacitor monomer technology in the world at present.

Ruan Dianbo, deputy director of the technical center of CRRC Zhuzhou Machinery Co., Ltd., told reporters that the 2.8V/30,000 Farad supercapacitor is suitable for the main drive of trolleybuses. 8-10 kilometers, the vehicle only needs to be charged at the first and last stations, and it also has the advantages of fast charging and discharging rate and long cycle life.

"At present, about 60,000 buses and buses are operated online in mainland China every year. If all the super capacitors are used as the main drive power, 584 million kWh of electricity can be saved and 6.7 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced each year," he said.

The newly launched 3V/12,000 Farad supercapacitor is suitable for the main drive of trams. It only takes 30 seconds for a single charge, and the driving range can reach 6 kilometers.

It is understood that compared with traditional charging devices, supercapacitors have the advantages of being able to charge 1 million times, charging only tens of seconds, and having no pollution and explosion risks. They can be widely used in consumer electronics, rail transit, urban bus systems, national defense and Aerospace, hoisting machinery potential energy recovery, power generation and smart grid and other fields. At present, 9500 Farad, 7500 Farad and other supercapacitors developed by CRRC Zhuzhou Machinery Co., Ltd. have been used in trams and trolleybuses in Guangzhou, Ningbo, Wuhan and Huaian.
